Emerald Master students
As part of Emerald’s capacity-building activities, two studentships covering the full time overseas fees for the MSc plus a living stipend, were awarded. The candidate for the 2014 uptake of the MSc in Global Mental Health at King’s College London was from Nigeria and the student for the 2015 MSc is from Nepal, both partner countries in Emerald.
The criteria that were employed for selection of the candidates included them having a good or very good overall mark in a relevant undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification; having relevant professional experience; the probability of the candidate working towards health system strengthening in one of the Emerald countries following completion of the MSc course; having sufficient English language skills; and the overall suitability and capacity of the candidate. The candidates are conducting their MSc dissertation within the scope of the Emerald project.
